'Concrète Waves' documents the improvised musical dialogue between two distinct generations of avant-garde electronic music, uniting the pioneering modular synthesis of Suzanne Ciani with the contemporary, deconstructed club forms of Actress. The album merges Ciani's fluid, atmospheric explorations on the Buchla synthesizer with Actress's glitchy, industrial rhythms and warped, asymmetrical grooves, creating a sonic environment where the natural and metropolitan worlds collide. Born from a series of live performances co-commissioned by institutions like the Barbican and Sónar, the recording captures a unique, transgenerational sonic meeting.
