Pivoting radically from the guitar-heavy psychedelia that defined their earlier, Grammy-nominated work, the Amsterdam-based ensemble embraced 1980s synth-pop and Euro-disco. The album continues their tradition of modernizing classic Turkish folk songs, but entirely filters them through analog drum machines and bright, retro synthesizers due to remote recording constraints. The highly danceable project brought Anatolian rock into a decidedly new, electronic era.
