The first installment of Carsten Nicolai's massive 'Xerrox' project explores the conceptual degradation of audio through endless digital copying. Utilizing heavily processed samples of Muzak and classical music, the record generates a suffocatingly cold, breathtakingly beautiful ambient soundscape rooted in digital error.
