The debut album from the anonymous Quebecois duo Angine de Poitrine, 'Angine de Poitrine - Vol.1' is a primarily instrumental work of experimental math rock. The album is built upon the interplay between intricate, hypnotic drum patterns and the unconventional, microtonal melodies created by a double-necked guitar and bass. Drawing from influences like Turkish rock and acid techno, the compositions feature tight, pulsing grooves and layered, swirling riffs that create a sound both complex and rhythmically compelling.
