Deeper and more suffocatingly minimalist than their previous work, the German quartet constructs five painfully slow, dirge-like instrumentals. Relying entirely on sparse brushes, subtle bass lines, deeply resonant vibraphones, and Rhodes piano, the record cultivates a terrifying, pitch-black noir atmosphere.
