TRACES

'TRACES' is the debut album from the Swedish quintet Cosmic Ear, a project deeply inspired by the spiritual and global music legacy of Don Cherry. The album blends avant-garde improvisation, intercontinental grooves, and meditative soundscapes, prominently featuring the interplay between Christer Bothén's bass clarinet, Mats Gustafsson's saxophone and electronics, and Goran Kajfeš's trumpet and synth work. Utilizing a wide instrumental palette including the donso n'goni and berimbau, the album's production captures the ensemble's synergy with warmth and clarity, creating a sound that is both a tribute to spiritual jazz pioneers and a distinctive path in contemporary creative music.
