'The Inmost Light' is a trilogy centered on the full-length album 'All the Pretty Little Horses', which sets lyrical themes of suffering, death, and Patripassianist theology against some of Current 93's most traditional and acoustic-guitar-based compositions. The album is built around recurring melodic motifs, but this folk-oriented structure is interrupted by experimental, spoken-word pieces that utilize drones and heavily treated vocal samples. This contrast between minimalist songwriting and avant-garde production creates the recording's distinctly unsettling atmosphere.
