Noble and Godlike in Ruin

Noble and Godlike in Ruin cover art

Inspired by Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein', Deerhoof's twentieth studio album 'Noble and Godlike in Ruin' is a self-produced work that lyrically identifies with marginalized figures to explore themes of dehumanization, alienation, and empathy. The album's abrasive and experimental rock sound is intentionally dense, weaving together elements of math rock, disco-funk, free jazz, and heavy metal into an artfully jarring sonic collage.
