Recorded over a single week in late December, 'Generation Y' represents one of the final full-length releases under Devon Hendryx's early moniker before he adopted the JPEGMAFIA alias. The project functions as a deeply lo-fi, introspective, and heavily sampled journey that addresses personal anxieties, regional culture in military-centric Bellevue, and early digital-age media. Its DIY aesthetic and raw stream-of-consciousness delivery laid the conceptual groundwork for his subsequent work in the experimental underground rap scene.
