A harrowing, entirely unaccompanied vocal performance, this concept piece explores the psychological deterioration and physical agony associated with AIDS dementia. Using multiple microphones, electronic processing, and guttural shrieks, the artist constructs a terrifying soundscape of grief and political rage. It remains one of her most disturbing and profoundly challenging avant-garde works.
