A collaborative side-project pairing Matt Berninger, the baritone frontman of The National, with Brent Knopf, the multi-instrumentalist from Menomena. The resulting indie rock relies heavily on upbeat, synthetic grooves and playful guitar lines that deliberately contrast with Berninger's traditionally gloomy delivery. The lyrical narratives loosely follow the fictional exploits of punk legends D. Boon and Minutemen.
