The Blue of Distance

Inspired heavily by Rebecca Solnit's writings on memory and physical distance, the composer constructed this deeply serene project using heavily manipulated analog recordings. The album seamlessly blends processed field recordings of rushing water and wind with mournful, swelling orchestral strings and vintage analog synthesizers. It is an incredibly peaceful, highly textured meditation on the impact of digital media on human memory.
