Il y a des jours
by Hellebore
Released on a tiny independent imprint, this profoundly obscure French release is a hidden gem of the 1980s Rock in Opposition (RIO) movement. 'Il y a des jours' employs complex, shifting time signatures, highly theatrical, manic vocal performances, and dark, carnival-esque synthesizer motifs. The band's intensely surreal, chaotic energy draws heavily from the theatrical avant-prog pioneered by fellow French legends Magma and Art Zoyd.
