MESTIZX

'MESTIZX' is a powerful act of sonic decolonization and a radical exploration of identity. The collaboration between multidisciplinary artist Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and virtuoso drummer Frank Rosaly merges the ancestral sounds and rhythms of the Andes with the unbound freedom of avant-garde jazz. Across the album, Ferragutti’s evocative vocals, spoken word, and traditional instrumentation entwine with Rosaly's complex, textural percussion to create a ritualistic and deeply political soundscape. Released on the forward-thinking International Anthem label, the record is a visceral, improvised ceremony that reclaims and reimagines a fragmented cultural history.
