Wasteland
by Jim Ghedi
'Wasteland' marks a significant sonic evolution for Jim Ghedi, expanding his folk foundations into a darker, more ambitious and intense sound. The album blends traditional songs with original compositions that explore themes of personal loss, environmental anxiety, and societal decay, reflecting his reaction to returning to a changed England. Co-produced with David Glover, the record features a layered, monolithic sound, incorporating distorted electric guitars, heavy percussion, synths, and sweeping strings, which complement Ghedi's newly prominent and dynamic falsetto vocals.
