Wahalla
by Joanne Robertson & Dean Blunt
Reuniting the London-based provocateur Dean Blunt with frequent collaborator Joanne Robertson, the duo delivers a stunningly sparse, deeply melancholic collection of lo-fi acoustic folk. The incredibly brief, half-hour album relies almost exclusively on softly strummed guitars and haunting, detached vocal harmonies regarding heartbreak and isolation. It is a mysteriously beautiful, deeply affecting project.
