Produced by Lee 'Scratch' Perry at his Black Ark studio, 'Police & Thieves' captures the political and social tensions of Jamaica during the late 1970s. The title track became a monumental anthem that deeply influenced both the reggae scene and the burgeoning British punk movement, famously covered by The Clash.
