Unus mundus patet
by Jute Gyte
On 'Unus mundus patet', sole member Adam Kalmbach continues his exploration of avant-garde black metal through a destabilizing and compositionally dense framework. The album is defined by its use of microtonal guitars, which create warped, alien melodies over a relentless foundation of blast beats and harsh, buried vocals. Interspersed with electronic and dark ambient passages, the album's metallic onslaught and cacophonous, industrial-tinged production construct a disorienting yet methodical soundscape that reflects its philosophical underpinnings.
