The Richmond, Virginia trio continued to pioneer the American post-rock movement with an incredibly subtle, deeply atmospheric sophomore record. Dominated by slow-moving analog synthesizers, gently brushed percussion, and distant, mumbled vocals, the compositions prioritize quiet, cinematic tension over traditional rock dynamics. The stark, incredibly lonely soundscapes became highly influential for the emerging ambient-rock and slowcore communities.
