On 'The Livelong Day', Lankum deconstructs traditional Irish folk music, transforming well-known songs and introducing stark originals through a lens of experimental drone and ambient textures. The album utilizes the droning timbres of uilleann pipes, concertina, and harmonium to build slow, immersive, and often unsettling soundscapes that are thematically raw and sonically intense.
