Two Paths
by Marianne Schuppe / Deborah Walker
The debut duo album 'Two Paths' joins vocalist/composer Marianne Schuppe and cellist Deborah Walker, both notable figures in European experimental and improvised music. The recording features two extended works: the co-composed "Aus dem Zeltbuch," a piece based on Schuppe's text-collage that explores word-sound textures on the edge of intelligibility, and a rendition of Éliane Radigue's "Occam River XXIX," which was developed in close collaboration with the composer. The album's sound is a minimalist dialogue, focusing on the spectral complexity and subtle interactions between voice and cello.
