Agharta
by Miles Davis
A monolithic live double album recorded in Osaka, Japan, 'Agharta' captures the final, ferocious incarnation of Miles's electric band at its most dense and uncompromising. The music is a maelstrom of sound, driven by deep funk rhythms, dual-guitar noise attacks, and Miles's searing wah-wah trumpet. The revolutionary, distorted guitar work of Pete Cosey, in particular, pushed the music into uncharted territory, creating a sound that bordered on noise rock.
