Decoy

Recorded during Davis' controversial 1980s comeback period, 'Decoy' relies heavily on sequenced synthesizers and prominent bass grooves provided by Darryl Jones. The project integrates elements of contemporary pop-funk and urban aesthetics into the jazz-fusion format, polarizing traditionalist critics. Despite its mixed reception, it features strong contributions from saxophonist Branford Marsalis and guitarist John Scofield.
