Brass

'Brass' is an otherworldly collaboration that unites Moor Mother's jagged, Afrofuturist poetics with the stoic, historically dense lyricism of billy woods. The production is abstract and haunting, weaving together a disparate range of dissonant, jazz-inflected soundscapes that often feel both ethereal and abrasive. The artists trade intricate, stream-of-consciousness verses that explore themes of colonialism, ancestral trauma, and Black history with a challenging and uncompromising focus.
