The third and ultimately final studio album from the Montreal post-punk quartet sees them significantly softening the jagged, anxious edges of their earlier work. The highly polished record incorporates lush synthesizers, a 70-piece choir, and frontman Tim Darcy's newly refined, crooning vocal style heavily indebted to 1980s new wave. It serves as a beautiful, highly romanticized swansong for the critically beloved indie band.
