Homosapien

by Pete Shelley

Originally intended as a batch of Buzzcocks demos, producer Martin Rushent convinced Shelley to embrace drum machines and synthesizers for a standalone solo project. The resulting title track became an iconic club hit, famously banned by the BBC for its overt references to bisexuality, yet highly influential to the emerging synth-pop landscape.
