The Montreal-based quintet debuts with a hyperactive, wildly erratic fusion of 1970s post-punk and jagged, Talking Heads-esque art-funk. Framed conceptually around a fictional, chaotic motel, the record relies on blistering tempos, prominent cowbells, and heavily caffeinated vocal yelps. It was heavily praised for capturing the sweaty, unpredictable energy of their notoriously unhinged live shows.
