Originally packaged in a literal 16mm film canister, Public Image Ltd's sophomore effort completely shattered standard rock-and-roll paradigms. 'Metal Box' is an incredibly heavy, fiercely avant-garde collision of Jah Wobble's deep dub basslines, Keith Levene's metallic, dissonant guitar screeches, and John Lydon's anxious, highly repetitive wailing.
