After a near decade-long hiatus, the experimental metal collective Pyramids returns with a startling reinvention of their sound. The album marks a dramatic shift, fusing their established blackgaze and shoegaze roots with the rhythms and aesthetics of reggaeton and neoperreo. This bold juxtaposition combines blast beats with dembow grooves and features Spanish female vocals from Argentinian singer Emy Smith, creating a sound that is both abrasive and pop-oriented. The album was mixed by David Embree and mastered by Simon Scott of Slowdive.
