German producer Uwe Schmidt, under his Latin-music alter ego, delivered a brilliantly eccentric and humorous tribute to Kraftwerk. 'El baile alemán' entirely reimagines the robotic krautrock pioneers' most famous compositions as vibrant, acoustic mambos, cumbias, and merengues, completely subverting the austere nature of the original source material.
