Facing the monumental task of replacing founding frontman Max Cavalera, the Brazilian groove metal titans enlisted American vocalist Derrick Green. Retaining the heavy tribal percussion that defined their previous efforts, the album leaned into deeply aggressive, almost hardcore-punk tempos, polarizing their massive international fanbase.
