Utekočinjeni prestol preprostih (The Liquified Throne of Simplicity)
by Širom
On 'Utekočinjeni prestol preprostih (The Liquified Throne of Simplicity)', the Slovenian trio Širom expands its self-described "imaginary folk" into a deeply immersive and psychedelic experience built from sprawling, hypnotic compositions. The album's organic and richly textured sound is achieved through a vast and unconventional acoustic palette, fusing a wide array of global, handmade, and traditional instruments like the guembri, hurdy-gurdy, and balafon. Recorded live without overdubs, the production captures the intricate, meditative interplay between the musicians, resulting in a transportive work that blurs the lines between drone, avant-folk, and structured improvisation.
