Written during bird-watching expeditions in the Australian rainforest during pandemic restrictions, the songwriter's sophomore album heavily features the piano rather than her usual electric guitar. The shift in instrumentation creates a much warmer, softer chamber-pop environment to cushion her sharp, often confrontational lyricism concerning toxic relationships and emotional abuse.
