Heavily featuring members from the acclaimed doom metal band Blood Incantation, this Colorado group pivoted heavily into 1990s-worshipping symphonic black metal. The album is deeply steeped in high fantasy, utilizing sweeping dungeon-synth keyboard interludes and soaring, highly melodic tremolo riffs that completely eschew modern metallic trends. It was universally celebrated within the extreme metal scene as an incredibly fun, masterfully executed homage to genre classics.
