Shell~Wave

Continuing the improvisational, hardware-focused ethos of his live performances, Surgeon's 'Shell~Wave' was built from single-take recordings using a minimal setup of a synthesizer and drum machine. The resulting sound is a raw distillation of the Birmingham techno style, marked by abrasive industrial textures, potent acid lines, and complex polyrhythms that blur the lines between frenetic percussion and psychedelic atmosphere. The album's relentless pace is broken by the beatless, ambient track "Dying", which serves as a contemplative centerpiece that underscores the record's search for a human soul within the machine.
