The Japanese sound artist constructed a deeply isolating, cinematic ambient experience by heavily processing shortwave radio transmissions and environmental field recordings. The incredibly subtle, slow-moving digital drones blur the lines between electronic synthesis and captured acoustic space. It remains a critically acclaimed, highly immersive achievement within the 1990s ambient and lowercase electronic movements.
