Phosphene Dream
by The Black Angels
For their third LP, The Black Angels streamlined their droning, hallucinatory tendencies into tighter, more focused 1960s-inspired rock structures. 'Phosphene Dream' dials back the sprawling runtimes of their past work in favor of punchy, fuzz-laden anthems that retain their signature shadowy, vintage-psych aesthetic. The record played a significant role in cementing the revival of modern psychedelic garage rock in the early 2010s.
