Leaving None but Small Birds

An unexpected collaboration between two heavyweights of the North American doom and noise metal scenes, shifting their sound entirely toward somber Appalachian folk. The project heavily references traditional American hymns and murder ballads, substituting their usual blast beats and screams for prominent acoustic guitars, violins, and gorgeous, mournful vocal performances. It was highly praised as a surprisingly delicate, deeply reverent deviation for both bands.
