Music for Pleasure
by The Damned
The rushed sophomore effort from the pioneers of British punk introduces a slightly denser, more chaotic sound, aided by the recruitment of second guitarist Lu Edmonds. Uniquely produced by Pink Floyd's Nick Mason after their initial choice of Syd Barrett fell through, the record features experimental flourishes that puzzled the contemporary punk audience. The resulting critical and commercial disappointment led to the band's temporary dissolution shortly after its release.
