The last of Ornette Coleman's foundational quartet albums for Atlantic Records, 'Ornette!' introduces Scott LaFaro on double bass following the departure of Charlie Haden. Named after the works of Sigmund Freud, the compositions feature blistering, rhythmic free-bop that continues to boldly dismantle traditional chordal constraints.
