The Crack
by The Ruts
Emerging from the Southall punk scene, this debut full-length captures a vital cross-pollination of aggressive punk ethos with driving reggae rhythms. The recording sessions were heavily influenced by the socio-political climate of late 1970s Britain, leading to fiercely conscious and socially aware lyricism. Tragically, it stands as the sole studio LP released during frontman Malcolm Owen's lifetime.
