Taking its title from the German word for 'microsleep'—the terrifying phenomenon of momentarily falling asleep while driving—the anonymous producer's debut album is an incredibly tense, deeply cinematic exploration of late-night electronica. The incredibly hazy record masterfully integrates skittering, low-tempo jungle breakbeats and dub-techno elements into a thick, heavily synthesized ambient fog. It was highly celebrated as a brilliantly executed, profoundly anxious tribute to 1990s IDM.
