Ancient God of Evil

The Swedish quintet achieved a near-perfect synthesis of freezing black metal atmosphere and incredibly tight, Gothenburg-style melodic death metal riffing. The flawlessly executed, remarkably fast-paced compositions are heavily punctuated by soaring, highly memorable dual-guitar leads and deeply aggressive, raspy vocal performances. Although the group disbanded shortly after its release, it remains a critically revered, foundational classic of the melodic extreme metal underground.
