The incredibly bleak debut from the Finnish pioneers pushes the agonizingly slow boundaries of early death-doom into highly experimental, avant-garde territory. The use of discordant violin, eerie synths, and Jukka Pelan's tortured vocal delivery establishes an overwhelmingly oppressive, terrifying atmosphere that heavily anticipated the funeral doom genre.
