Attempting to format his virtuosic guitar work within a structured band context, Steve Vai recruited a powerhouse lineup including Devin Townsend on vocals, T.M. Stevens on bass, and Terry Bozzio on drums. The resulting album is a wildly eclectic, technically staggering, and often chaotic fusion of progressive metal, hard rock, and funk.
