Conceived by guitarist William J. Tsamis and drummer Mark Zonder, this release stands as an early, esoteric pillar of the US Power Metal underground. Featuring complex, neo-classical fretwork and high-fantasy lyrical themes interwoven with overt Christian theology, it was accompanied by an ambitious video counterpart meant to substitute for live touring. Despite minimal commercial success at the time, the project achieved mythical status among European metal enthusiasts.
