On their third album 'Voices', Singapore's Wormrot expanded upon their established grindcore foundation by incorporating a wider dynamic range and more diverse stylistic elements. While retaining the genre's characteristic blasting intensity and aggression across twenty tracks, the album introduces more distinguishable song structures and moments of groove, drawing from crust punk, post-hardcore, and black metal. The production, clearer than on previous efforts, highlights a more varied instrumental and vocal performance, culminating in a sound that is both punishingly fast and more texturally and emotionally complex.
