CYRM
by ØXN
The debut album from the Irish quartet ØXN, 'CYRM' reinterprets traditional folk ballads and contemporary songs through a lens of experimental doom-folk and industrial drone. A collaboration between Radie Peat, Katie Kim, Eleanor Myler, and John 'Spud' Murphy, the record explores bleak themes of murder, revenge, and oppression with a sound palette defined by haunting vocal harmonies, stark piano, and krautrock-influenced percussion clashing with distorted synthesisers and heavy, atmospheric noise. Murphy's production amplifies this tension, creating sprawling, unsettling soundscapes that are simultaneously ancient and modern.
