Y&T's 'Earthshaker' marked the Bay Area band's first album under the shortened name and pushed their hard rock toward a more forceful heavy metal presentation. The record became a foundation for the group's early-1980s identity, pairing Dave Meniketti's vocals and guitar work with arena-ready riffing.
