On her second album 'Noor', Spanish composer and cellist Yamila blends contemporary electronic production with analog instrumentation, featuring the string work of the Echo Collective. Conceived within an ecological community and inspired by ancestral rituals, the album's themes focus on nature, care, and the connection between species, translating the Arabic word for "light" into an elemental and atmospheric sound. The work juxtaposes the organic warmth of the cello against modern electronic textures, shifting between lyrical and wordless vocals to create a soundscape that is both intimate and expansive.
